Association Khetpa for Himalayan Children helps children and young people from the Himalayan region of northeast India get an education and prepare themselves for a productive future. We provide a safe and healthy living environment imbued with the values of their traditional culture.
The families of our children are subsistence farmers in the Himalayas. They lack means for education their children. Association Khetpa makes it possible for their children to go to school.
We cover all of their school fees and living expenses---food, housing, clothing, medical insurance---from primary school until they finish the university
The children live in a healthy, safe, caring and family like environment in keeping with their Himalayan culture.
When the young woman pictured above joined Project Khetpa when she was the same age as the young girl she holds on her lap. Today she is a nurse in a public hospital in her native area of Arunachal Pradesh. Only education can give the new generations the means for a better future for themselves and their families.
